Caitlyn Jenner, Woman of the Year

Caitlyn Jenner, age 66, strutted the red carpet this past Monday night at Glamour Magazine’s women of the year awards. Cait wore a stylish,  custom blue and black long sleeve, silk Moschino gown paired with pumps by Barollo Italy. She accessorized elegantly, yet simple with diamonds by Neil Lane. Her hair was in a simple updo which complimented her look well. I guess its fair to say Caitlyn Jenner most definitely came dressed for the occasion. Good bye Bruce, hello Caitlyn!

She was honored for being an advocate for raising transgender awareness and gave a very heartfelt yet memorable acceptance speech.  Although, Kylie Jenner experienced wardrobe malfunctions earlier… she was there to support Cait. Although, Caitlyn Jenner is not the first transgender woman to be honored
( Laverne Cox was honored last year) she has had quite a journey since coming out. Other awards she has received include the Arthur Ashe
Courage Award and a Teen Choice Award for being Choice Social Media Queen.

When being honored by Actress Judith Light Caitlyn Jenner said:

caitlyn-jenner-woman-of-the-yearWhen it comes to gender, everybody in this room is on a journey. We are constantly learning, growing as human beings, learning about ourselves. But there is a segment of this population, when it comes to gender, there is massive confusion, deep down inside. It has caused problems throughout the world—because this is an issue about humanity, it doesn’t have borders.

Other honorees on this year’s star studded woman of the year list includes Reese WitherspoonMisty Copeland, and Victoria Beckham. Other stars whom were in attendance include Serena Williams, Selena Gomez,  and Amy Schumer just to name a few. I wonder who will win next year?
